SANTA ANA DESIGNER OF THE YEAR: Angela Du

Written by

With a mother who designs wedding gowns, and a father who is a photographer, it’s no wonder that my true calling would be in some type of art.  I’d like to believe that I've been creative all 24 years of my life, but my parents say it started around the age of three when I accidentally sowed a piece of fabric to the shirt I was wearing.

All 4 feet, 11 inches of me was grown in Los Angeles, California.  I’ve worked with kids for five years, been a hair and makeup artist, go go dancer, waitress, yoga instructor, and I even worked in a dental office, but If you ask me what I do, I’m going to think about it for a second then tell you that I’m simply just an “artist.”  I can’t swim, ride a bike, or run very fast, but I am happy, healthy, in love, and have the most beautiful thoughts in my head.  All I want to do is share my positive energy with the world through my art project.

The Simply Defined (Green) Project is an expression of my artistic abilities to promote the “GO GREEN” movement. Every American produces about 4.5 pounds of trash per day and 80% of it is all recyclable. The Simply Defined (GREEN) Project is how I choose to reuse and recycle these materials. With the exposure of my fashion and other products made from recyclables, I hope to raise awareness to this global movement to sustain the environment. I know that it is quite impossible to change the world overnight, but I would like to make just enough contribution to encourage others to start a movement of their own.
