I grew up in Anchorage Alaska (and no I didn’t have a pet Polar Bear). Fashion was limited up in Alaska but there are plenty of museums and paintings. I fell in love with the look of dresses and fashion at a young age. It wasn’t until I was about 12, when I first started to draw the images in my head. I first got started in elementary school. I remember watching this movie with Keisha Knight Pulliman and fell in love with the idea of fashion.
My style is innovative, sexy and classical with a mix of attitude. After high school, I went ahead and followed my dreams of becoming a fashion designer. I graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle with my degree in Fashion Design and have been in love with the city and the fashion ever since the plane landed. I started my business “NES Fashions” in 2006; the NES is my initials. My influences have to be everyday life. From the people I see on the street, to things that hang on the wall, television, the media, my family, fabrics, and colors. There is also this artist named Jackson Pollock. I love his work and when I look at it, I feel something and it helps me create pieces in a different way like picking colors for a line or the over all look. What I love most about my work, is my self expression. The way I’m able to create something beautiful that fits high fashion models as well as the average woman (like me) is amazing and fun.
