Since starting out in August 2010, 4nStereo has come into our own as more than just a band. We are a lifestyle, a way of thinking, a universal concept, a role model. As self-taught musicians, we represent the idea of breaking the mold, abandoning traditional expectations and having ownership and pride over your dreams.
We have never shyed away from opportunity and in doing so, our young career has always been a bit backwards. For example, we launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $2,000.00 and recorded an EP before we ever took to a live stage. We opened for local bands before touring the open mic circuit in Seattle or busked on the streets of Pike Place Market (we never performed at open mics until very recently...)
We realize that when it comes to doing what you love, there is no better time than now. Life will always keep moving, times will always keep changing and we will continue to keep aging. Each member of the band constantly makes sacrifices. We work our rehearsal schedules around the responsibility of full time jobs, relationships and school and we drive long distances to keep the band a priority.
Our sound is indefinable and that's probably because we have never confined or stylized ourselves to fit a certain genre. Inspiration strikes whenever and wherever. The only way to write relatable music is if we are genuine in our process. We let the songs write themselves by taking all those heart dropping or spine tingling life experiences, layering it piece by piece and finally threading them together into audible form.
Our songs are melody-heavy, sometimes hinted with jazz undertones, sometimes Spanish, sometimes a cascade of dreamy piano notes. This eclectic musical flavor is a direct result of how each member adapted their unique self-taught background and preferred style to develop 4nStereo into what we are today.
At the end of the day, we want our music to inspire others to understand that happiness is about doing what you love and that every opportunity is a leap of faith worth exploring.
