ART: Evergirl Art

Written by

Mom, Artist, Entrepreneur, Lover of Life and Sunrises!

Sharing life experiences and childhood memories can be therapeutic, not only for ourselves but for the people we share with.  My art has given me an opportunity to share myself with people in ways I had never imagined possible.

I find inspiration from using things that others toss aside. Creating and building something new allows me to feel free. My art process is seldom planned as I prefer to be spontaneous.

Creating usable items out of trash is something I have been doing for as long as I can remember.  As a small child I would turn old shirt sleeves into evening gowns for my Barbie dolls and I would make doll cradles out of old oatmeal boxes.  Anytime someone was tossing something out I would say, “Hey, I can use that to make something neat.” Although I was introduced to welding at an early age, I never had much interest.  After my father’s passing in October 2009, I picked up a welding torch to overcome my grief and a found object artist was born.

When I pull my welding helmet down over my face I love how the whole world vanishes and all that I see is a little blue flame melting one piece of metal unto another piece of metal.
