Everyone wants to know about him. Everyone tries to label him but can’t describe him. Enoch is simply described as “true school Hip Hop with a spiritual twist” or as Enoch would say, “Higher Chakra Musick!” Yeah that’s him, Enoch the 7th Prophet. His name exudes strength and spirituality.
In the mid- 80's, at the age of sixteen, Enoch began writing rhymes. As a young member of the now-disbanded group, Total Kaos, Enoch took to the stage as Deejay Heath Cliff. During this formative period, Enoch started to develop his own unique rhyming style and learned how to deliver charged-anthems in school hallways, bathrooms, and even expanded to the public realm by performing on sidewalks during lunch breaks or beat boxin' in a emcee cipher. The emcee of the golden era of Hiphop since 1989; turns to photography in 2009 for more creative outlet to see the world through a different lens, so in 2010 El-Shamesh Photography.
I got started August 10, 2009 when my wife brought me a Nikon d3000 for my birthday. This is when life as a photographer began for me. After getting laid off my day job for the second time.I set a goal for myself to learn that piece of equipment by the end of 2009. Amazing enough i completed that goal and brought a new camera (D3100) and signed a lease for my first photography studio in Washington, dc.
The El-Shamesh Photography style has a formula and it gets updated each time I shoot a concept, event , photo shoot or wedding. Giving my style a description i would say its "up close and personal, great attention to detail, love to me be in the mix and in ninja mode."
The inspiration comes from within and the things that may influence my work comes from seeing everything as a great photo.
I love how photography allows me to be more creative and less worried about boundaries. I tell people that its therapy and the joy of shooting a subject a 100 times just to get that perfect photo.
I still enjoy doing hip hop shows up and down the east coast as a professional emcee. I'm also a barber and do health lectures on my off days
I'm the founder of an org called "The Pro-Seeds Project" in which we raise money and awareness for prostate cancer. I'm also currently in a hip hop trio called D.P.E which just release our first project called "3x'sDPE".
