Artist Hannah Beckwith is addicted to taking photographs. Come to the last 2010 San Diego RAW showcase to see the marvelous product of this artistic addiction at the Se Hotel in Downtown San Diego on Thursday, October 28th!

I’ve always loved fashion and photography is something that I’ ve been passionate about since I was twelve years old. It just made sense for me to combine the two. In middle school, I picked up a camera and that was it - I was literally addicted to taking photographs. Thousands and thousands of images later my passion for capturing something beautiful, something extraordinary, something that makes a statement or tells a story is more intense than ever. I know that I was put on this earth to be a photographer. When I’m not taking pictures, I’m busy planning my next photo shoot. I have literally thousands of my photographs saved to my hard drives, representing years of scouting out the perfect sites, waiting for the perfect light, hoping to capture the perfect moment through my lens, coercing friends to serve as my muses, raking through thrift stores for wardrobe, studying makeup techniques, mastering hair styles and memorizing the latest trends on the pages of every fashion magazine I can get my hands on. My art is my life. I draw my inspiration from all around me, nature, movies, stories, music, etc. I always have a notebook with me to write down my ideas in. I’m currently in my second year at The Art Institute of California - Orange County, where I was recently named the top female photographer in the school.
