ART: Andrew Ryan Lucero

Written by

My name is Andrew Lucero. I am completely self-taught in the art of acrylic painting. I have been exploring this type of art for about 3 years. I have shown my work in a few galleries in Pueblo, Colorado as well as the Colorado State Fair. I enjoy sharing my art making process by doing live painting. I have done this at events in Colorado Springs with the indie-soul band Kopesetik Soul.

The goal is to make my artwork a spiritual practice, an idea I borrow from the visionary artist Alex Grey. Allowing myself to fall into a meditative flow during a painting session draws out divine imagination through my body and into the canvas. It is a process that I think most artists experience but may not see it this way. My artwork includes a wide range of subject matter. I draw inspiration from many different sources: visions, dreams, feelings, meditations, ideas, perspectives, and experiences. I believe we can heal ourselves through practicing art as a spiritual path by making and appreciating works of art. Sharing your artwork and "deeply seeing" works of art is a process of recognizing our interconnectivity with each other and with nature. It is one of the most beautiful things about the human experience.
