HOW DID YOU FIRST GET YOUR START AS A DESIGNER?
I have an interesting start actually. I started customizing sneakers in high school. When I graduated, I went to American University where I built my business on the college campus. I moved onto graphic-tees and came back to New York. While in New York, I worked for designer Anne Bowen [for four years]. While working as Head Designer, I got my degree attending night school at FIT. I started my line KIMBO on the side as well. The newest line, KM Collective, is a higher-end line, which I am very proud of. Everything I do has a graphic side fused with a sleek design from both of my backgrounds.
It's not bad to be bold and daring, and that it's all in the details.
Creativity. I came to the conclusion that if I can't work on my own passion and creativity, I'm not happy. The constant struggle and the every growing difficulty makes it exciting and a little scary.
