Born from my Mother's womb and raised in my skin in Houston, Texas. In May 2011, I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from the University of Houston. Also, I am one of many in the Generation X, which is the grooving grandchild of a vibration. I was an only child growing up, so I spent most of my time entertaining myself while painting and drawing. I realized early how art was therapeutic. No matter what happened at school or home, once I made some art and listened to some music for the day, I was less moody. It relieved me of emotions I didn't quite know how to express in words. So, my artwork became my way to communicate to others about the emotions I tried to hide and medicate through listening to music. My artworks are my interests interpreted into patterns in a perfectly imperfect manner. Creating art for me is like standing in a dark closet filled with post-it notes swirling around and trying to catch at least one of them. The moment it's in possession the light comes on but there's a limited amount of time to read and execute what's on it before the closet gets dark again. In my artwork, I take those mental thoughts I save from music, math, science and food, and extract the highest emotions from each to merge them into something visual that always feels like the moment the post-it note is finally caught in midair. These ideas will form into a variety of art ranging from paintings to shirts. To see updates on my work and to buy my ideas on wearable, go to www.facebook.com/KGdaArtist.fanpage. An official website is in the works and will be coming soon.
