Beauty – Boston

In my early chidhood, I remember the smell of hot burning hair, a smoky salon, and loud music. It felt like a party every weekend at mom and dads job. It wasn’t until many years later that I understood the art of their profession as hairdressers. Both parents emigrated from Cape Verde , determined to make it they decided on a career choice by attending cosmetology school. Both graduates and licensed they opened their own salon, which became a quick success. I personally never wanted to do hair but in my teen years I was almost forced into it. I distinctly remember my older brother deciding to grow braids and demanding that I learn. Many years later when my younger sisters were starting to grow up and no longer allowing Dinha to do their hair inspired me to try more things with female hair styling. I slowly began to understand that I had a talent but always ignored it-something that came natural to me, it was just simple. I started styling for close friends and family a lot more and recently decided it's time to take it further. So now 28 years later, Nina B. is sharing her passion and talent with you.
