Nina ZacCimi

Visual Art – San Antonio

Thank you for stopping by, I am Nina. I have been an artist for most of my life but within the last 5 years my focus has been consistent in my development. I was born in Dallas Texas and relocated to Kentucky when I was adopted. My birth mother had 11 children with me being one of the youngest. My father was undocumented from Monterrey Mexico. Both parents were into drugs/alcohol and were extremely abusive therefore I was placed into foster care. My adopted family was pretty abusive as well and they abandoned me at a children\'s home at age 11 until I was 18 years old. I grew up without a mother and father and that immediate safety base that a lot of people have. I was introduced to art at an early age that helped me cope with my past and struggles of my independence. I graduated high school and went to college at Morehead State University and Easter Kentucky University studying to become an Art major. I traveled all around the states while becoming homeless, into drugs, my own sexuality, and in search of my place in this world. It took me a long time to find myself and to find a path that I was comfortable with. I moved to San Antonio about 6 years ago and have found my self growth with my voice in my art. I now have my own art gallery called Zac Cimi Arte on the westside.
