Dawn Robinson Nocturnal Echo Imagery

Photography – Philadelphia

I was born and raised in a suburban area just outside Philadelphia. I moved to Baltimore MD to attend college at Towson University where I earned a degree in Electronic Media and Film Production. I am currently earning my Associate of Applied Science Degree in Graphic Design and Animation. I have always had a passion for photography ever since I held my first fisher price camera. I never go anywhere without a camera. Because I have a strong appreciation for history I am very actively involved with the art of Urban Exploration as the main focus of my photography. I find beauty in the forgotten, discarded and abandoned. Whether it is a building that now stands in ruins yet the crumbling walls echo with the sounds of what was once an industry that employed thousands and proudly marked their products made in the USA, or a hospital where the halls once glistened and filled the air with the smell of disinfectant...now the same halls and rooms are consumed with peeling lead paint, rusty medical equipment, asbestos filled floors...and the shadows of all those who became a part of history along with the places now forgotten by time. I try to convey in my photography emotions and memories of past..that will make people stop and think and appreciate things that once were and places that had meaning to so many, and that these pictorial pasts of these places...I hope create a sense of appreciation of our history.
