Nuance Skinwear

Fashion – New Orleans

Honoring the body and skin\'s relationship to my physical expression, my creations are an embrace; leather softens and molds to your skin. My minimal designs honor the shape and qualities of each hide, featuring nuances. Now I offer leather skirts, tops, dresses, etc because I know the value of them from my life. The first skirt, I made to match a mardi gras costume top-- my first venture sewing leather clothes-- then I wore it under the Tuscan Sun, under a fortunefurcoat in Canne, France, and under a wine deluge (celebratory) in Italy\'s finest wine: Barolo, at an Italian feast. It still gets compliments! May these clothes go so with you! And me? Fashion design was an innate fascination. Since before I remember, I insisted-- Mom says-- on particular clothes, ones not found in the stores or catalogs or commercials. Thankfully, my mother is competent and brave. With can-do-attitude, we created my designs for fancy show attire (Louisiana Quarter Horse Assoc.), casual clothes, even my prom dresses. I taught sewing skills at youth camps, and lead the Louisiana Fashion Board (annual fashion show averaged 60 models, 2k in audience). After other artistic ventures and adventures, I\'m back at the runway! Instead of plant fiber, garments of animal fiber, less processed and less delicate. I love leather because I feel it, skin on my skin. I honor the contribution of this animal to my life. Collaboration. Grateful.
