In the land of art which is a vast and sprawling land indeed, I\'ve been lucky enough to have been able to make my living as a self-taught sculptress and painter for many years -but eventually I felt I needed a change. On a whim I decided to head to Mardi Gras with a friend and make masks for us (which I had never done before). They went over so well during the festival, with strangers inquiring constantly as to where we bought our masks, that I felt I should attempt to create more and see if I could pivot into a new artistic realm. When I discovered Steampunk (an underground subculture of society that had been hidden from the world for over 10 years), Steampunk was rapidly emerging and finally becoming mainstream. I couldn\'t resist the antiquity and romanticism of this community and when I began to make steampunk masks, I knew I had found my calling. The rest is history, or shall I say... her-story!
