Petra Chiton

Jordan King, founder of Petra Chiton, is a born creator. Raised in Baltimore, MD, by her loving family, she lived with her grandmother for most of her childhood. Those years were filled with stimulating projects, important lessons, and happy memories. Some of Jordan\'s many mediums include fabric, leather, wood, cork, hemp, paint, pottery, yarn, natural dyes, and vintage or re-purposed materials; there is no end to the things she will use to create her vision. You will find a theme of ethereal swirls and fantasy in a lot of her visual art pieces; she enjoys painting a range of subjects both abstract and realistic depending on the mood that strikes. In her more tangible work she enjoys creating unique bags, comfy clothes, and useful objects for everyday life with a slightly whimsical, yet classy aesthetic. Jordan, currently enrolled in CCBC, is studying for her Fine Arts Degree at the Catonsville campus, maintaining a 3.37 GPA as of Spring 2014. In fact, her first RAW Show is what inspired her to go school again. She loves the challenge of school and being pushed to do new things she may not have ever tried, all with an extremely supportive faculty helping every step of the way. Along with that, her family and friends always encourage her to go for her incredibly lofty dreams, offering advice with a simple \'be safe and smart\' before she whisks off to work on her next idea.
