Comic Artist ,Erik Arreaga, also known as Phour Nyne Guy, is an independent artist who has created a unique dark, and gritty art style within his work for the past 18 years. He is a San Diego native that has a love for comics, married to his high school sweetheart for over 15 years with their daughter. They keep him centered and allow him to strive and accomplish what he has set out to do all his life. Erik began drawing at an early age while admiring his brother’s large comic collection. Details, shadows, dynamics and overall creativity kept Erik’s interest in the craft, along with the admiration of his favorite artist. Erik’s journey into Independent Comic studios began early in High School beginning with Gravity Well Graphics along with doing pinups for other small companies such as Asylum industries and other independent San diego based groups. This is where he began learning the techniques used to make his own comic books which then launched his own independent studio,Phour Nyne Studios. While still trying to make a name for himself, Erik also began going to comic conventions around San Diego and became immersed into the comic book world-yes he can can geek out on comics too! He has been touring comic conventions for many years. San Diego being his home, it was only natural that San Diego Comic Convention in 1991 would be his first convention experience.
