Visual Art – San Diego

I am a natural born artist, having discovered my talent at age eight, when I created my first painting for an art contest and won first place. Ever since, my life has revolved around art in one way or another. I have worked as a cartoonist, illustrator, curator, and in my latest years, as a graphic designer and photographer for the U.S. Navy. Some of my work has been displayed in Puerto Rico, New York and California. Art, to me, is the vehicle I use to express how experiences in life have affected me. After an idea pops into my head I tend to create a quick sketch then I elaborate on it if I need to, and when I am satisfied, I transfer it to canvas. Although I use different pigment mediums such as pencil, ink, water color and charcoal to create, I prefer oils and pastels for finished pieces because I can manipulate them better. I also use a Nikon D300s DLSR camera to capture images for my paintings. I simply paint to communicate as I make way through life.
