Music – Toronto

Providence The Poet is a lyrical, poetic and energetic Hip-hop artist with a darker tone to his music. Inspired by many hardening personal experiences including poverty as well as schizophrenic episodes, the emotion he puts into his works is what truly makes him special. In High School Providence excelled in English classes, particularly on the subject of poetry, which put him on the artistic path and though he was heavily immersed in writing since he was in the fourth grade, it was at this point that he truly fell in love with being a wordsmith. He also refined his knowledge on music and sound in 2018 by attending and graduating from Metalworks institute of sound. At the tender age of 22 years old, the young man has had quite a bit of live performance experience having played over 40 different venues from his hometown of Montreal Quebec, all the way to the edge of the country down in Niagara Falls. Highlights include headlining two tours in the summer of 2016, the first being a four day tour in southern Ontario titled the “I believe Tour”, the second being a twelve day tour across the south of Ontario. This music and art stuff is only phase 1 of the master plan, says Providence. He wants his art to spark conversation on topics that are generally seen as taboo such as mental health, poverty and spirituality. He has major aspirations of helping those in need of it as his music career takes off, especially those struggling with mental health issues and poverty. Take a look at the world through the eyes of Providence.
