Visual Art – Chicago
Hello! My name is Marlys Caceres and I am a Chicago-based designer/quiller who studied graphic design at The Illinois Institute of Art and the School of the Art Institute. I became interested in quilling -the craft of making decorative designs out of thin strips of rolled paper- my senior year of college and ever since then I've been quilling. I really love this craft due to its detail-oriented nature; it requires complete attention since the chances of undoing something can mean starting all over! Each piece is very unique since no two duplicates are truly the same. This past year I've been working with a partner in order to create pieces that are both designed and quilled.
