Rachael Peacock

Visual Art – Los Angeles

Born in Tacoma, Washington, Rachael studied installation and kinetic sculpture at the University of Washington. After graduating in 1996, Rachael continued to play around with metal work in her free time. In 2000, Rachael turned her attentions to 2D art. At first she dabbled in the pop art styles that were popular at the time, but quickly turned her eye to mixed media 2d. Rachael showed regularly around Seattle in bars and juried exhibitions. By 2003, her work was sold through galleries and five star hotels in the area. In 2008, Rachael had a painting residency at La Muse Writers’ & Artists’ Retreat in South of France where she was blown away by the quality of the light and the particles seen dancing in the evening sunbeams. This lead to a brush stroke that has become prevalent in all of her paintigs. Eventually, Rachael began decoupaging classic literature and layering this with acrylic paintings, effectively combining storytelling and imagery. Her work has been commissioned as album artwork by musicians such as Rocky Votolato. Rachael moved to Los Angeles, California in 2009 where she currently resides and continues to create new work.
