Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013, I changed both physically and mentally. I was bruised, battered & weak. I\'ve always been creative - writing, journaling, drawing (ahem - badly), making DIY projects, cooking elaborate meals, gardening, and making jewelry. I\'d had a store in NYC that sold Tibetan jewelry and a friend encouraged me to open an Etsy shop. I did and created a section for my own designs. It became clear I needed a separate shop for my work and recherchegems was born - recherché meaning rare, exotic or obscure.
