Visual Art – Minneapolis

I am a lover of the arts and the outdoors. I grew up on a farm where my love for animals (and the beauty of nature) was rooted deep within me. I was always drawing and coloring as a kid, but after high school I put art to the side while I got a degree in vocal music education and got married. It was actually my husband that suggested I pick up art again. I had made a few signs for my family for gifts, but never really took the idea of selling my artwork seriously. One day he bought a 48" x 64" canvas and asked me to paint a lion for him. I was a bit flabbergasted by the size of the canvas, but excitedly agreed. It took an entire summer to complete, but when I was finished, I was so proud of what I had done. It was by far the most challenging piece I had ever done, and I had never painted anything like it before. I loved it. And I loved knowing that I did it. From there, it was a matter of growing my confidence, and painting more to try and have inventory. This year a friend recommended I apply to be in a pop-up shop. Being accepted was just the push I needed to really get serious about trying to build an art business for myself. And the rest is history! I am a self-taught, new-to-selling artist that is eager to learn, meet new people, and show the world what I can do!
