Renee Brown, a New York-based emerging artist delved into hyper-realism while attending the Hartford Art School and earned her BFA in painting with a minor in art history. During her time in school, she became the first recipient of the Helen Charleton Scholarship for her work in portraiture and won the Jerry A. Shoham/Jerrys Artarama Connecticut prize for painting. After receiving her BFA, she attended the summer undergraduate residency at the New York Academy of Art and has been showing her work in various shows on the east coast.
