Performing Art – Washington, D.C.

A dancer since age two, Renée has six years of professional dance experience - with four years in the NBA for the Washington Wizards, and two years as captain for the Lady Raiders arena football dance team. With the Washington Wizards, she attended the All P-R-O Dance Convention in Georgia, Choreography Pros in Arizona, and represented the NBA in Brazil for NBA 3x Events. Also with the Wizard Girls, she performed beside artists such as Wale and DJ Kool, in the Cherry Blossom Parade alongside renowned artists such as Lance Bass of N'Sync, Jay Sean, and experienced three NBA playoff runs, appearing on national TV. Renée is currently the assistant coach for the Washington Valor AFL dance team, the Valorettes, and has taught a variety of styles of dance since she was 16. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she started her training with the Laurel Youth Ballet Company, then later at Christine's School of Dance. She participated in her studio's competition team, attending Starpower, Starbound, ShowStoppers, and Dance Masters of Pennsylvania conventions, while training for Cecchetti Council of America exams I-IV. She performed many roles in the Nutcracker such as Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and Arabian. While a captain on her high school dance team, the Pantherettes, she performed in the Macy's Parade and at Disney World. At James Madison University, she was a member of Madison Dance Club and participated in the club's executive board. Renée is passionate about sharing her experiences and helping others accomplish their dance goals.
