Renee is a self taught artist currently exploring watercolour and ink pens. Renee is a maori woman born in New Zealand, moving to Perth as a child and spending much time exloring and playing around the Australian Coastline from the South West of Western Australia to the Eastern Coast up through the tropics and stepping over to the Torres Strait, and time spent in the South Pacific. Renee has a great love of the ocean and its creatures, creating unique artworks depicting sea life. Renee has a unique style that is influenced from a lifetime of connecting with and learning from artists of various cultural backgrounds. This influence is evident in her work which is a fusion of contemporary design styles and traditional patterns and motives. Renee has a background in the service industry, culture and arts and studies in Architecture and Design and is now completing a degree in Anthropology to wrap up her love of culture, connection, traditional belief and cosmology. Through her work, Renee seeks to continue to develop and infuse these elements into a unique style that allows her to share her love of Arts, the Natural Environment whilst paying homage to culture, tradition, stories and memory.
