Photography – Seattle

I have been photographing for my entire adult life. Since I was fifteen, I’ve rarely been without a camera. I took photos all while growing up, in the Navy in my teens, early twenties and ever since. Photography centers and grounds me, giving me peace in an often hectic and chaotic life. For the past six years, I worked at the local Humane Society. I managed the “MaxMobile” a 38-foot bright yellow bus full of adoptable animals, driving into the community for adoption events. Every year, nearly 6,000 animals came through the organization’s doors, and for many years I was an integral part of the adoption program. I helped to find loving homes for the approximately 160 dogs and 670 cats who were the MaxMobile guests each year. My favorite part of the job was photographing hundreds of homeless dogs and cats and posting their photos on the Humane Society’s Facebook page, as well as running their Instagram feed. My photos encouraged thousands of people to support the organization and saved hundreds of cats’ and dogs’ lives. I am now focusing my time and my efforts in making my passion for photography into more than a hobby. My whole life I’ve lived to take photos and now I want to be able to take photos to live.
