Corazón Swimwear

Corazon Swimwear was born in January 2011 in Philadelphia, PA. As a Junior at Moore College of Art and Design, Rachel Sadler, Corazon's creative director, went to her room mates Ashley Dudek and Cathleen Beer(both designers for Corazon), and asked their advice on how to fuse her love of Fashion Design, Guatemalan Culture, and philanthropy. Together they came up with the idea to use Guatemalan textiles in their designs for bathing suit cover-ups, which they would then vend and set their profit aside as a scholarship for a Guatemalan student seeking higher education. With the help of Grace Gardener, fair-trade vendor of Guatemalan products(located on 18th and Walnut), Corazon Swimwear came to fruition. Rachel's proposal was submitted to a panel of judges and ultimately chosen for two separate grants awarded by Moore College of Art and Design. These funds have helped Corazon Swimwear with their initial start up, as well as helped raise over $1,000 for a very deserving Guatemalan student named Felix. http://vimeo.com/21576120
