I'm a self-taught fashion designer who's been pursuing this dream since I came to this country from Mexico at the age of 12 and after assisting my aunt in her seamstress business, I got the first introduction to the manufacturing side of fashion. Since then, I've been teaching myself the techniques needed to illustrate, design, and construct clothing. In order to expand my horizon, I left for a few years to live in New York City to network with people and continue to polish my craft. During my stay, I had the opportunity to participate in the NY Fashion Week for the Winter of 2016 and 2017 as a volunteer for the behind the scenes productions, and to work with New York based labels as private labor work. After doing various jobs for different clients, I finally decided the type of designer I wanted to be and that was to have my very own label with work being done 100% by me. I recently started my business and trademarked my logo for my company Santibar Collection. The work I do right now consists of client to client custom order jobs. Obviously, I'm in the beginning stages of the business part but with my skills as a designer, I would love to be able to reach a much wider audience to make my dream come true and expand.
