SeonaMargaret
Accessories – Canberra
SeonaMargaretDesigns was launched in 2011 and designer Seona McDonald creates handmade beadwork and crocheted jewellery and accessories. Her designs are little pieces of wearable art and are created using high quality materials resulting in beauty, strength and durability.
She is a featured artist on the website for PXE International http://www.pxe.org/art and has both an Etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/seonamargaretdesigns and Facebook page www.facebook.com/SeonaMargaretDesigns
Her art is almost a form of therapy, meditation if you will, the ability to tune out the world and to create what appears in your mind is very liberating. She learnt to crochet over 30 years ago but has been doing it seriously for about the last 18 years, specialising in lace crochet and wire crochet. In beadwork she mainly concentrates on beadweaving with tiny laser cut seed beads and Swarovski crystals, the ability to create designs with such tiny tiny pieces of glass and crystal is inspiring and there are so many opportunities to mix materials and come up with wonderful designs.
She is a past RNCAS Royal Canberra Show Beadwork Champion (2012); Reserve Crochet Champion (2012) and Reserve Beadwork Champion (2011); and a past Canberra BusinessPoint Awards Finalist (Creativity and Design, 2011) and has won numerous other prizes over the last several years.
