Beauty – Minneapolis
I grew up in a little town in South Dakota where in 4th grade my "what do you want be when you grow up" day at school was me dressed up in a cute outfit as a cosmetologist carrying my Caboodle filled with makeup and a scissors. I started cutting any friends and family's hair who would let me, shortly after, in the 6th grade and coloring just after that.
I busted out of SD as soon as I graduated high school and came to Minneapolis to attend Aveda Institute. I have been working in the area for 13 years with that last year being at my own salon, Vixen beauty lounge at Sola salons in Edina. The last year being fully on my own has been exciting, scary and exhilarating. Pushing boundaries of creativity and continually educating myself on my craft has only made me love hair more. With that I am a stylist who generalizes, meaning I do cuts, colors and styles, but my loves are short hair cuts and updos. Kind of two random things, but I think they are two things that are a little more specialized and are sought after by clientele. This is not the reason I focus on them. They are both something I know I do well, are more creative and am absolutely enthusiastic about!
