Visual Art – Honolulu

I was born and raised in the Bay Area (California), and moved between the San Francisco and Santa Cruz areas before moving to Oahu in 2011. Graduated from AAU in San Francisco with Fine Art-Sculpture degree, mainly ceramic, metal, figurative work. Moving to Oahu, have focused on acrylic landscape and Hawaii/Surf inspired work. Over the past few years have dove deeper into environmental art/activism, using found marine debris, mainly plastics, to create mosaics to bring awareness of the state of our oceans, to create dialogue of how we can help and protect our environment. The mosaic I currently create are composed of tiny plastic pieces that have been collected from the beaches of Oahu, all coming from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch (es) ie: Gyres, which is pulverized plastic waste from the past 50 or so years.
