Shannon Perez

I became interested in Photography right after High School. While in High School, I was a painter and won 1st place in an art show that my senior class held. I also had one of my paintings placed in the permanent collection at the Board of Education in Athens, GA. I still paint from time to time, but my passion is now photography. I\'ve lived in Seattle for about a year and am still pleasantly surprised by all the beautiful scenery and diversity in and around the Seattle area. I love to travel and shoot urban decay, urban life, landscape, nature and closeups. I also love to photograph beautifully prepared food. Food porn is one of my passions. I am self taught and am constantly learning from my peers and from my own work and feedback from peers, friends and strangers on flickr. I started out with a minolta 35mm film camera and was obssesed with black and white film from the very begining. Now with digital, it is so much more accessible and easy to shoot as many shots as it takes to get the perfect photograph. For the majority of my photographs the only photoshopping I will do is convert them to black and white and maybe crop them a bit. But I try not to use too much photoshopping as I believe that the raw photo should speak for itself.
