Visual Art – Brisbane

Sharon Mak is a self-taught artist and passionate in capturing the unique features of the Australian native flora. Her art, distinctively characterised by fine pencil drawing and bold acrylic colours, draw viewers to appreciate the delicate and extraordinary native plants from all over the country, mostly from places explored by Sharon herself. Sharon's journey in creative botanical illustrations began in 2009 when she first set foot in Geraldton, Western Australia. The combination of sea breeze, beating waves and the spectacular display of wildflowers during the winter months inspired her to reconnect with her childhood passion and has since created a vast collection of art featuring the native Gymea Lily, flowering gums, grass trees, banksia and many more. Sharon has exhibited in several art exhibitions in Melbourne and Brisbane, Australia and is looking foward to embrace the exciting opportunity of her artistic venture and to bring everyone on her journey of discovering and appreciating the valuable native flora in Australia.
