Visual Art – St. Louis

I truly am RAW on many levels. I\'ve had no formal training in the arts. Anything I know about art is from trial, error, observation and reading. I had a turbulent youth and never completed high school, then at age 32 I received my Associates Degree in Applied Science (in both Animal Husbandry and Environmental Science) in my attempt to offer my daughters more in life. 20 years later and my daughters grown, I made the decision to leave the rigid, unsatisfying career field I had chosen. Now, at age 57, I\'m trying to pursue the one thing that seems to come naturally to me and gives me the most peace and self worth: creating. I have played with many mediums throughout the years: clay, paint, woodworking, mosaics and more. I live a very private and secluded lifestyle and admit to introverted social skills. Fortunately, I have numerous wonderful friends and family members who never give up on me. Their supportive encouragement and love are what keeps me going during the hard times. I work a variety of part time jobs and at times struggle financially, but I am happier than ever before because NOW I have time for me...for reflection, meditation, peace, ease of mind and creation. I\'m rough around the edges with a tough protective exterior, but I maintain the principle that people are genuinely good. I believe in humanity and that the more we help others, the more we help ourselves.
