Shartiera Wilkerson, a Charlotte, NC native, has spent nearly her entire life in character. In enduring much adversity, she was able to find a gift amongst all the chaos. Acting evolved from being a hobby, in her adolescent years, to a facet of her very being. As a result of life experiences, Shartiera\'s way of self-expression hindered her in many areas of her life. She utilized acting as a tool to function on a higher level of thinking as it groomed her to become a master of her emotions, which was essential in order for her to lead the life she wanted. Shartiera has won awards with the North Carolina Theater Conference, appeared on the Emmy Winning Showtime Network show, Homeland; she has headlined two stage plays and been the leading lady in several independent films and web series. She is heavily influenced by Kerry Washington, Meryl Streep, Taraji P Henson, Lupita Ngoyo, Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Tyler Perry, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and several other Hollywood heavyweights. She also has to distinguish Tasha Smith, of Why did I get Married? (1and 2), Addicted, and Empire because she has trained one on one with her intense rendition of the Ivanna Chubbuck Technique. She has a love for the craft because it is a part of who she is.
