Beauty – Boise
I am a self-taught makeup artist based out of Boise, Idaho. My love for horror and gore started at a young age when my mother agreed to let me watch A Nightmare on Elm Street, but I didn't get myself involved with makeup and SFX until the past few years. I attended a local beauty school 3 years ago and became licensed in Esthiology. However, my school offered very little makeup training. After I completed my state requirements, I would spend hours looking at blogs, youtube videos, and books about makeup. I did many brides/bridesmaids and senior pictures on people in the area, and I still continue to book weddings regularly. I love glamour shoots and anything avant-garde. My first dip in the pool of Special FX makeup was two years ago when my younger sister bought a container of liquid latex for me, knowing I had wanted to start practicing my horror looks. I used every drop of that little container and then some and spent hours in my room applying makeup to myself and anyone who would let me get their hands on them. Anything bloody and gory is what I love most. I hope to someday take my craft to the studios of LA or New York and work on film or television as a makeup artist. I work currently as an Esthiology Instructor at the Aveda Institute Boise, passing on my love for beauty and makeup artistry to all of my amazing students.
