Visual Art – Portland

Born in Chicago,IL on April 19th,1976. A most critcal day on the Occult calendar, the first of a 13 day holiday \"Blood Sacrifice to the Beast\".I started my career in Art at an early age. At nine was actively involved in the theater and entertaining. However, my true passion was drawing. After years of struggling with addictions and attempts of trying to find oneself. I Immersed myself in my Art and moved to Portland, OR. I have been in Portland for over a decade now, and loving it. This city has been the perfect combination of weather, social interactions, and subcultures to round me as an artist. I enjoy painting with oil, acrylic, spray-paint, sharpies, anything I can make a line with. Found matierals at times are used to substantiate the piece and bind it to the tangible plane. I utilize words in unconventional manners playing with their context and visual dynamics. Words form our reality as well as convey our emotions, wants and desires. They are an intricate part of my work. The text I employ record milestones, feelings, and serve as a vehicle for closer interaction with a piece.I tend to work in layers, a slave to time. I add color and texture,as life adds on. In a constant battle of balancing light and dark, black and white. At times it feels like my pieces dance with time, I merely keep the beat. Each piece brings me closer to finding out who I really am.
