Visual Art – Canberra

I grew up in a very creative family. With an award winning builder/designer father, highly talented water-colour artist mother and three sisters who are all outstanding in their fields of photography, hospitability and graphic design. Over the past two years I have been training to become an Art Therapist. During this process last year I felt a deep desire to create with paint. I bought a number of second-hand canvases and started splashing over other people’s discarded creations. I used this to help process my own life challenges and find inspiration in my daily life. I loved what I produced and was surprised and delighted with what appeared before me. I don\'t set out to paint anything, it just arises intuitively as I turn the canvas every 10 - 15 minutes. I find encouragement in the beauty of the world around me and through my extensive travels into Europe and Asia. I particularly love Bali and have spent a lot of time there recently finding peace in the gentleness of the local people and the rhythm of their lives. I love the respect and care for the land of these people and how their culture and customs are intertwined so beautifully into their lives. Enjoy my art and may you be inspired! www.diilhami.etsy.com
