Stephanie Avery is a Toronto-based artist and adventurer. Working in several different mediums, Stephanie’s practice concentrates on themes of play, discovery, identity, and memory. Stephanie's most significant project is her ongoing photographic series of abandoned buildings from around the world. She is drawn to the silent beauty of these forgotten spaces and has (so far) traveled through four continents to find her remarkable subject matter. Stephanie tries to capture the feeling of these spaces and show people glimpses into the extraordinary world of the forgotten.
