Strike Daekins Designs

Fashion – Washington, D.C.

Strike Daekins is a small-scale, costume business specializing in historically inspired fashions with close attention to detail and authenticity. It was founded by Meaghan Fuller, in 2006. Since then, the business has been hosted at many different Renaissance Faires and cons along the East Coast. In addition, Meaghan's detailed and exquisite handfasting cloths have been featured in hundreds of wedding ceremonies around the world. About MEaghan Strike Daekins was dreamed of, and built from the ground up, by myself, Meaghan Fuller. In 2002 I began my sewing career, which at the time, was still just a hobby. I was 17. And I had to have a gown to wear to the Renaissance Festival, no excuses. (This was my own personal ultimatum.) It was also that year that I became enthralled with the magic of the Lord of the Rings. Having never sewn a garment in my life, having never had any interest in sewing anything whatsoever, I asked my mom to teach me the basics in order for me to make that gown. I. Never. Looked. Back. Sewing and designing became my passion and my dedication. I have continued on with the pursuit for the past 16 years. In 2006 I decided to take things up a notch, and took my (at the time) very *small* costume booth to the Virginia Renaissance Faire. It was there I not only furthered my business and career, but I met and fell in love with the man that became my husband that season too. We were married in 2007. In 2010, I decided to quit my "day job" and devoted myself full-time to raising my fledgling business. I made the investment, took out a loan, and purchased a wonderful Viking sewing machine, thus beginning to learn the intricate ins and outs of design and embroidery. Two summers later, I had the business successful enough that I bought a second machine, identical to the first. Just recently, I purchased the newest model that Viking Sewing Machines has come out with. The business is rocking! I am an ever-evolving artist, and proud of where I have come from, and excited for where I am going.
