Sugarskills

Visual Art – London

Izzy Cammareri and Lynsey Morgann Laurence started painting, patching and penning together at a rained-off jubilee street party in 2012. The measured leap from random acts of art into planned all-nighters and over-worked weekends occurred within the space of a month. It was around this time that the girls\' sugar addiction turned from jelly-babies, sherbet and 7up into a sugarskull addiction as they prepared their first Día de Muertos themed piece \"Karmic-Chi-Love-Thing\". \"Karmic-Chi\" was sold just 4 weeks later as Izzy returned to Hong Kong and Lynsey began her expedition to Australia. Undiscouraged the girls continued to plan and create work online- bouncing designs over the internet to one another. At the end of 2013, in the damp, cold depths of London; Izzy and Lyns were unexpectedly reunited in a haze of black-coffee, pva glue and water-based pigment. Within weeks they had new skull-works \"Lilith\", \"Blodeuwedd\" and \"Kore\" set to be featured in the Brick-Lane Gallery\'s Winter Showcase. Encouraged, inspired, sleep deprived and fuelled by Lucozade they began preparing to take the rest of London by storm. On the side their bolder, more public steps they formed their own art and illustration company \"Sugarskills\". Currently gathering speed as Izzy and Lynsey try to get to grips with twitter, printing companies and how to transport two or more 150x100 sized box-canvases from one side of London to another without breaking the bank or Izzy\'s boyfriend\'s back. They are definitely a duo to be watched. If nothing else, S*%$s getting serious!
