SUZII K

Fashion – Brisbane

I graduated secondary school 2013, from there I began study in 2014 in the Diploma of Applied Fashion and Technology at Metropolitan South Institute of Tafe, Brisbane. While studying I entered a variety of national style competitions and won, I then decided I’d sell my outfits to friends so I started SUZII K, late March. At the time I had also started an internship with Brisbane based designer Benjamin Ringuet, which took me from February until late June. While studying and working with Ringuet I volunteered at Fashion Week Australia in April and used that week to network and expose my week old brand as much as possible, it was from that week I had made myself very known in the industry as ‘one to watch.’ In May I was granted the opportunity to launch the first SUZII K Collection at Brisbane’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival set for August. In the lead up to the MBFF show I created a temporary range to create exposure which resulted in many press releases, prints on magazine covers, social media exposure and pop up runway shows around Brisbane etc. With the hype of the MBFF Brisbane Showcase prior and post, I decided it was best to defer study to focus on the business fulltime and plan for next collection for Summer 2016..
