SwampFox Studio

Visual Art – San Antonio

Artistically, I go by Swamp Fox Studio. I enjoy playing around with different styles, but I have found the more I can use my hands throughout the artistic process the happier I am. Currently I\'ve been making 3D illustrations. The characters are made from wire, aluminum foil, polymer clay, fabric, paint and possibly other objects for embellishments. The backgrounds I am currently also playing with different materials and just using the natural world around me. The finished pieces are the photographs I take of my pieces. I also enjoy watercolor and acrylic painting when not doing a 3D piece. I graduated with a BFA in Illustration from Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Since then I\"ve had four books published by Capstone Publishing under my maiden name Frances Moore. I’ve had illustrations in Speakeasy Magazine in Minnesota. After college I interned at DGIinventive helping produce stationary products for a variety of companies including Target. Burnt out with the digital illustration style, I wanted to try my hands at something else. I went into Floral Design for a few years with three different companies. It was a great experience that taught me how to work with different types of people and being creative in a new way. Since then I’ve become a stay at home mom to two wonderful children and make illustrations in my free time. I plan on getting more involved in the art community as my children grow and time allows.
