Dulce Tapp

Visual Art – Ottawa

I was born in Mexico City. I got a degree in Architecture and worked for several years. I moved to Canada in 1991. For the past few years I have been very active taking art classes and seminars studying different techniques from mixed media to soldering, encuastic, jewelry, sculpture and calligraphy. At the same time I have been designing my very own line of furniture. Mixed Media and collage pieces best represent my art, displaying the images with a particular spice for design and colour. My unique pieces have very colourful backgrounds consisting of multiple layers of paper and paint. Representing urban living is a common thread in my art. I have followed my heart and creativity with the right attitude and persistence, so all my ideas have materialized when I am reinventing the world with fresh designs for furniture, buildings, fashion and urban living. My enrolment with my creativity and art has opened doors for any opportunities that I desired. My natural sense for design has helped me with my visual expression of my work. The freedom I have allowed myself in being able to try different ways to communicate my ideas has been the best tool for what I am most grateful in life. You can see my work exhibited at Orange gallery and the Bruyere Hospital and some other pieces from private collectors. I have participated in different publications and contests in Canada and the United States.
