A member of a large family in New York city, Swiyyah Akhtab a wunderkind was born with fashion in her veins. The Brooklyn native always stood out from her peers with her outlandish and edgy outfits she often created herself. Friends and neighbors took notice of her unique show stopping dresses and demanded she create pieces for them,which she happily obliged. This was the birth of SwiyyahCouture. Although Swiyyah had been designing pieces exclusively for family and friends,she took her first dive at a runway show in early 2010. Debuting her 12 piece concrete jungle collection at the Elude Fashion show in Williamsburg Brooklyn made her an instant hit with international supermodel Lu Sierra. Since then, Swiyyah has launched her first swimsuit collection Swiyyahcouture Swimwear at Bikini Under the Bridge in Brooklyn,presented her Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 Collections for \"The Designer Collective\" fashion showcase for NYFW, and has had garments featured in Zink and Fuzion Magazine. While working to take her brand to the next level, Swiyyah is quickly creating a name through social networks such as Face Book and Instagram creating a cult following. Swiyyah receives on going request for custom made garments ranging from the US to South Africa. Swiyyahcouture is the embodiment of boldness,edge,freedom and the future. Swiyyah Akhtab believes that a women\'s individuality is the key source behind her eternal style.
