Visual Art – San Diego

Tali Lopez is a self-taught artist, born in The Bronx, New York and raised in San Diego. “I Like to think that I’ve always had an eye for beautiful things, but who knew that painting would become my lifes passion”. Tali’s work tends to be very emotional and suggestive. He uses vibrant colors to express experiences that form our day to day lives. Tali often overlaps drawing, painting, text and image into his works, often blurring the lines between abstraction and figuration. “If I had to describe my work, I would say its a mix between street art, abstract expressionism and abstract”. He often harkens back to the days of Basquiat and Warhol , two of his favorites, to draw inspiration from. No stranger to adversity, Tali often uses his life experiences , both positive and negative, to express his emotions on the canvas. “ I don’t name any of my pieces because I like to leave each piece up-to the interpretation of the viewer”.
