Tamara Bradshaw

Fashion – Melbourne

I was brought up by a Fijian Indian mother that has a vivacious love of life, travel and colour to an almost overwhelming extent. I had no choice but to keep up with her enthusiasm and go along for the ride. My heritage has been a strong part of my identity, infusing itself into my upbringing as an eclectic Londoner. Until four years ago, I met my husband, Jack, who decided to literally turn my world on its head and introduce me to the sights, smells, sounds and tastes of Melbourne. I began by studying Printed Textile design at Central Saint Martins in London. After leaving uni, I feel down a weird and wonderful rabbit hole and ended up in the world of Ballroom dancing as a dance wear designer, which I have now been for nearly 8 years. I have worked on both Strictly Come Dancing in the UK and Dancing with the Stars in Australia. It was inevitable that the drama, movement and vibrancy would penetrate through and permeate into my own work once I started my own label. For the last year I\'ve been making one off pieces for clients including racewear, wedding dresses and performance pieces. I particularly focus on colour ways, textures and embellishments that will compliment a garment. I use the silhouettes of my garments to enhance and flatter the female form, in the assortment of shapes and sizes it comes in.
