Fashion – Washington, D.C.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER
She was raised in a household where her mother and father worked as a doctor and a lawyer. One would think that she attended fashion design school, but she actually obtained a degree in biology from La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. An essentially self taught designer and artisan, her mother taught her to sew by hand at the age of ten. She later progressed to gaining excellent usage of a manual sewing machine to perfect her art. As a result of taking apart ready-made clothing, she became adept at creating her own patterns to be used in the construction of new garments. She acquired additional skills working in fabric procurement positions and participating in various garment construction workshops over the years.

Her goal is to create one of a kind, timeless designs which encompass the heart and passion of every woman who feels pretty on the inside, but has difficulty finding a great fit and style on the exterior. Regardless of size, shape or economics, she wants to give every woman a chance to look phenomenal. In an effort to reduce her carbon footprint, she has recently started a line of sustainable eco-chic designs using mostly recycled clothing to include used woven necktie dresses, repurposed t-shirts and denim, used men\'s apparel, and other repurposed items.
