Visual Art – Columbus

I was born in 1962 and soon after I held my first crayon and drew on my bedroom wall, I knew I would always be an artist. I never had any formal art training beyond high school and a little in college but I have taught myself many techniques using many different media over the years. My curiosity and love of learning new things left me wondering what kind of artist I actually am. When I finally decided to combine many different techniques together I found my niche as a mixed media artist. I feel I have no limits or constraints when I start a new painting. I am free to use vivid color and heavy texture as I combine found objects with paper, paint, plaster, and the list could go on. I used to be afraid to make mistakes in my art and now I relish them for they give me even more opportunities to be free and open to changes.
