Visual Art – Toronto

I use pencil and paint to create unique original images on reclaimed wood panels. I find my wood panels on curbsides and alleyways in Toronto. I clean and sand the wood, and back frame each piece individually. All my pieces are presented ready-to-hang. I have been wandering along a path of some sort of sweet and gentle figurative surrealism. Whimsical characters constantly beckon to me from the wood, and I try to bring them to life. My released characters are often described as “aliens”, and “part animal, part human”, and they are unbound by constraints like gender, race, or species. Within the piece are sometimes many individual characters who interact in ways that show beauty, tenderness, curiosity, affection, and sensuality.
